Intelligent sensing systems increasingly rely on heterogeneous and multidimensional sensor data to perceive, interpret, and respond to complex environments. Extracting reliable and meaningful patterns from such data remains challenging due to noise, variability, temporal dynamics, limited labels, and differences across sensors and operating conditions.
This Special Session aims to bring together researchers working at the intersection of machine learning, pattern recognition, and intelligent sensing. We welcome methodological and application-oriented studies on learning from sensor data, including representation learning, multisensor and multimodal data analysis, temporal and sequential modeling, robust learning, domain adaptation, and learning under limited supervision.
The session seeks to highlight advances that improve the accuracy, robustness, adaptability, and interpretability of intelligent sensing systems across applications such as industrial monitoring, environmental sensing, human-centered sensing, healthcare, robotics, and machine olfaction. By connecting advances in machine learning with real-world sensing challenges, this Special Session aims to foster interdisciplinary discussion and collaboration between the machine learning and sensing communities.
The scopes as following:
• Machine learning and deep learning for intelligent sensing and pattern recognition
• Representation learning for heterogeneous and multidimensional sensor data
• Multisensor and multimodal data analysis and sensor fusion
• Temporal and sequential modeling for dynamic sensing data
• Domain adaptation, transfer learning, and learning with limited labels
• Robust, adaptive, and interpretable intelligent sensing
• Applications in industrial monitoring, environmental sensing, healthcare, robotics, human-centered sensing, and machine olfaction
